We have a blog!!

Hello everyone and anyone who reads this! We, the Vellingas, now have a blog. We figured some of you might like the idea. We're still figuring out how to make it look good and center that picture at the top (anyone know how??).
Anyway, for our very first post, we thought we'd share a few pictures of our newest home here in Provo. We are the managers here at the Truman, and so far it's been great! Jake loves taking care of the lawn etc. We've now been here a little over a month. The place was small at first (especially after being in a five-bedroom house) but we're definitely used to it now. And we love it. Here it is!

When you walk in you see....
Green! Yes, gotta love the green walls of our home. And to the right you see... (note: the walls are cement covered in wood siding. We still don't have the tools we need to hand the mirror)
Through that door where you see Jake sitting is the kitchen:

Jake is pictured eating popcorn, our number one food source! But not microwave of course, the microwave and popcorn are not friends. We have failed attempts to prove it.

The bathroom:It's hard to take a good picture in there, space is limited. I'm actually standing in the tub to take that picture.

And finally, the bedroom! A nice bright baby blue really adds flair:

Also, no closet doors makes for a good time. Who needs to open and close doors anyway?

And our bed is up very high on cinderblocks. That's really the only way we can fit everything in! And, the storage wheat buckets you see on the left of the bed work great for Jake's nightstand. They just have pillowcases over them.

So that's our place! Hope the tour was fun. I thought I should also add a picture of Jake's gorgeous birthday present for me back in May:

My very own rocking chair that he refurnished beautifully (apparently it was bright purple before)Oh, and we were in the Stadium of Fire Choir! That was fun. It was hot, but cool! Free tickets to Brad Paisley and David Archuleta, definitely worth it.

That's all for now, hopefully we'll keep things updated more often then every 6 months or so! Stay tuned.
